Yaks live at high altitudes on the Tibetan Plateau and Himalayas, and have evolved over millions of years to survive in these incredibly harsh climates. Locals have relied on yaks for thousands of years, for milk, fiber, dung, transport and meat.
Yak down is collected every year in early July with each yak producing approximately 0.5 kg of raw fiber. This fiber contains a mix of soft, fine down and coarse fiber. Only the finest fiber is used by us to produce our products.
Yak fiber is extremely warm, soft and is one of the most sustainable natural fibers available. It is also naturally anti-bacterial, anti-static, strong and highly breathable. It can be used for everything from luxury goods to performance sportswear.
